Vice President, Operations Oncology

Job Responsibilities

The  Vice President of Operations AO reports to the Division President, and is responsible for working with senior-leadership to execute the operational strategy and vision for operational aspects of the Division.

They will provide mentoring to all Site Managers as well as strategic leadership and management of day to day operations by driving improved performance through operational excellence.

Under the President’s direction, this position will drive strategic planning, operational excellence, process improvement and standardization, expense management and optimization, and enhance all physician and hospital relationships.

This is a remote position responsible for over fifteen Alliance Oncology clinics throughout the central and eastern parts of the country. 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with the Division President to execute the strategy and priorities for operations to ensure alignment with business objectives and successful achievement of goals and growth initiatives.

    Aligns vision for the Operations Teams and provides direction to move team towards successful, consistent achievement of goals.

  • Drives patient focus in all that we do.

    Insures highest quality of care for our patients by measuring success through patient satisfaction, supporting clinical studies, and ensuring sound clinical compliance processes are in place and utilized.

  • Drives operational excellence for operational areas of responsibility by mentoring and coaching site managers and ensuring they have tools to be successful; responsible to foster and enhance physician and hospital partner relationships.
  • Ensures operations are managed with strong financial acumen.

    Develop and monitor the progress of financial and operational performance standards to assure viable operations, a positive cash flow, budget adherence, and high levels of quality care and patient satisfaction.

  • Partners with BD and Sales to insure top-line growth for the division.

    Lending the operations team to be active members in the due diligence process.

    And leading the successful onboarding and execution of deals.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or other related area.
  • Ten (10) or more years of related progressive experience in Operations within the healthcare space, oncology experience highly prefered.
  • Experienced leader with a minimum of 7 years leading teams of national scope and reach, with senior-level direct reports in multi-site, multi-state operations.
  • Experienced in a matrixed environment.
  • Solid business acumen, strategic planning, problem solving and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to develop operational plans focused on delivering both increased top-line and bottom-line performance.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analytical/financial analysis abilities, excellent judgment, and superior problem solving skills.
  • Superior process improvement skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize among competing priorities.
  • Able to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders (at various levels and across functions) on transformational new ideas; adept at moving senior management to action – strong influencing skills.
  • Strong physician relationship building skills; bring creditability and value to the physician partnership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence and poise to routinely interact with an executive level audience.
  • Travel may be required 75% of the time.
