Position Description:Position Summary:The Vice President of Commercial is responsible for the development and implementation of annual and long-term company marketing strategies. Performs as the primary connection point to integrate and deliver on strategy execution between RGM, Sales and supply chain to produce and translate end-to-end (strategy through implementation) winning marketing plans and solutions to accelerate participation, execution and growth across all retail, e-commerce channels and routes-to-market. Leads the Commercial function responsible for development and management of the marketing plan inclusive of all channel plans, retail promotion, price package architecture, space/adjacencies, availability, assortment/innovation/SKU optimization, merchandising standards, CMAs, shopper marketing, marketing assets, segmentation and execution opportunities. Responsible for influencing the strategic direction of the Coca-Cola Bottling System in areas of brand strategies, packaging, national pillar marketing events, innovation, SKU optimization, marketing assets, and opportunity mapping.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:* Provides vision for strategic planning through early detection of emerging marketplace consumer trends by adapting ahead of the curve on business opportunities and develops clear destination for portfolio growth corridors through opportunity mapping to define, size, and prioritize revenue growth pools.* Operate with functional experience in commercial principles/framework, marketing strategy creation, brand/product development, price/pack strategy, channel commercial planning, consumer messaging/media, customer experience, market/consumer segmentation, data to insight translation, and alternative routes to market.* Drives insight into action by leveraging robust internal/external market insight to build a data-driven marketing system that directs the commercial planning process to support the bi-monthly key account release and monthly channel priorities.* Communicates marketing plan in accordance with customer sell-in timelines through bi-monthly Picture of Success (PicOS), priorities, promotional initiatives, selling stories and operating plans. Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in building selling capability for channel initiatives, brand/package launches, etc.* Collaborates with Sales and Revenue Growth Management (RGM) leadership teams to successfully deliver the annual business plans, Commercial Plan Imperatives, Channel/Category /Brand Operational Plans, Joint Brand Partner Plans, brand Go-to-Market budgets/plans and Marketing Asset deployment/activation roadmap that lead to the delivery the company’s strategic revenue and gross margin plan.* Lead Portfolio Management activities to maximize growth and achieve business targets. Analyzes individual innovation SKUs to determine potential for consideration into portfolio. Review/recommends opportunities to expand high performing SKUs to other channels/markets and for low-performing SKUs determine retirement or acceleration plan. Identify growth opportunities through Price Package Architecture (OBPPC) assessments for SKU expansions or breakthrough package pilots.* Responsible for performance management of business plan results by monitoring internal budget across brands/packages, categories, channels, and geographies. Align on gap/opportunity identification, targeted contingency and deployment plan to course-correct and deliver plan objectives.* Leads customer-specific shopper marketing plans for select group of retailers to drive traffic, grow equity in their brand and deliver on joint business plan objectives. Participation in customer annual plan sell-in and top-to-top meetings as appropriate.* Responsible for forging strong senior leadership partnerships with brand partners to influence strategy/decisions and gain resources to bring value for profitable growth. Influence brand and commercial plans through system committee routines.* Motivates and supports the commercial function to grow capabilities to increase contributions and capacity by defining clear role sort and expectations, routine coaching and feedback, and performance management to ensure continuous improvement and expected delivery of results; including active succession and development planning.* Provides clear communication to improve probability of achieving business objectives and results. Builds effective working relationships with other functions, parent companies, and other bottlers and leverages these relationships to problem-solve and identify best practices that can be replicated to capture local market opportunities.* Other projects or duties as assigned.Position Requirements:Required Skills and Experience:* Bachelor’s degree Finance, Business Management or related discipline.* 12+ years of leadership experience sales, commercial, category management, revenue growth management, preferably in the non-alcoholic beverage and/or CPG industry.* Working knowledge of Sales Operations and Supply Chain interdependencies.* Proficiency leveraging multiple data sources (internal, syndicated, retailer POS, etc.)* Proven analytical and creative thinker; ability to deal with ambiguity.* Naturally curious, self-motivated, action and results-driven and customer-focused mentality with a collaborative attitude and problem-solving capability.* Understanding of price package architecture, price strategy and trade spend and promotion optimization capabilities.* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; agile and adaptable to respond and anticipate changes.* Chain headquarter customer management experience in sales or related function (Category Management, Shopper Marketing, etc.) experienced in brand, product and market development strategies.* Proven ability to develop people and high performing teams.* Working experience of Direct Store Delivery business model.* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.* Must excel in managing multiple competing priorities with exceptional attention to detail.* Travel requirement: 30%* This position must pass a post-offer background and drug testPreferred Skills and Experience:* Master’s DegreePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
