Job The Regulatory Manager will be responsible for managing the Regulatory day-to-day functions and maintaining awareness of cosmetic industry global regulations with focus on the North American zone.

They will also be responsible for managing, communicating and allocating time based resources for all of our customer’s regulatory projects.

When necessary, coordinate efforts with Fareva Regulatory Teams in the EU and Latin America.Essential FunctionsUnder minimal supervision, completes tasks as directed.

Adheres to set objectives and standards.

Independently completes projects from inception to completion to meet deadlines, with support from supervisor as needed.

Investigates/researches problems/issues.Perform regulatory reviews of formulas for launch zone compliance; provide risk assessments and present opportunities for improvements.Evaluate, review feasibility and support requested claim’s substantiation (i.e., Vegan, Paraben-free, GMO-free, RSPO Compliant, Sulfate-free, etc…).

Identify areas of opportunity for our customers and establish yourself as a primary contact for regulatory decisions and interpretations.Complete Customer documentation requests for global product registration and dossiers.

As necessary, work with Fareva EU Regulatory and Safety Assessor on successful completion of EU Product Registrations.Review Artwork for Label compliance, correctness, and claim/copy review.

Provide tangible feedback as necessary.Follow, interpret and report on developing global and regional personal care/cosmetic regulations, including but not limited to: US FDA, IFRA, Health Canada, EU Cosmetic Regulation.

Keep R&D team apprised of changing regulations and develop formulation guidelines.

Create plan options to smoothly phase through necessary changes.Special Projects for continuous improvements.Continuous improvement of technical skills by participating in seminars, classes and additional schooling in the personal care industry.Handle multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying and proposing solutions to issues that may arise during formula’s regulatory review processMay interface with technical support groups including Marketing, Product Development, R&D and external regulatory groups/agenciesOther job duties as assigned Key ExperiencesBachelors in Science with 11-17 years of experience in regulatory compliance in the cosmetic/personal care or related industry; Masters with 8-14 years of experience in regulatory compliance in the cosmetic/personal care or related industry or PhD with 5-11 years of experience in in regulatory compliance in the cosmetic/personal care or related industryEU Cosmetic Regulation experience a plus.Experience with PCPC, INCI names, Cosmetic Labeling highly preferred.Advanced knowledge in relevant scientific and technical product categories and regulatory environmentAdvanced knowledge of development processes and regulatory environment in cosmetic/personal care industryAwareness and expertise in technical and regulatory matters and issues related to category/brandAbility to work in international, multi-disciplinary environment and extensive worldwide networkAdvanced level of communication skills (oral, written, presentation)Builds high performance teams and cultivates individual talent within métierAdvanced knowledge of applicable IT and R&D laboratory systemsMust achieve results with integrityMust have excellent leadership project management skillsMust be able to manage complexityAt FAREVA, Associate engagement and inclusion are workplace fundamentals. Our Associates are held to a high standard and are guided by the principles of honestly, fairness, respect, confidentiality and trust.
