IT Project Manager

This is a Contract position in Franklin Park, IL posted March 26, 2020.

Job Summary: This position coordinates project management activities through scheduling, technical direction, project planning, standard development practices, annual planning, budgeting and quality improvement activities for the organization by working with business leaders to deliver IT solutions to enable business goals and objectives.

Projects will vary in size and scope but will involve ERP implementations at various sites as well as smaller continuous improvement projects.

Job Duties: Leads or participates in multiple projects ensuring effective and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones and following proper escalation paths Creates and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts Provides leadership to team members and peers by collaborating and articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others Identifies, creates and facilitates process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis Serves as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in management, business, CIS or related field Five years of prior experience in a Project Management role, preferably in a manufacturing organization, with application development and software lifecycle experience.

PMP certification strongly desired Demonstrated experience in all phases of a project implementation life cycle including the identification of a business problem, business case and project plan development, and post launch monitoring through close out Good business acumen with a proven ability to understand business priorities Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build very good working relationships with managers, coworkers, and customers Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time (domestic & international) Must be dedicated to continuous improvement Transcendia is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all candidates for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
