Perspecta has an immediate/upcoming need for a System Administrator (Entry) in theBelleville, IL area.

Perspecta is currently looking for dedicated, dependable, and reliable Entry Level System Administrator’s to support the upcoming GSMO-II contract with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

DISA provides network operations management support to its national security customers via Department of Defense (DoD) Information Networks/Defense Information System Network (DODIN/DISN) capabilities which are deployed and operated worldwide.

DODIN/DISN capabilities are functionally a system-of-systems entity that is in a continuing sustainment phase of its life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities: Performs a variety of moderately complex assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems.

Sets up and maintains computer systems such as Open VMS Systems/DSM environments, UNIX systems (SCO and SUN), Redhat Linux and Windows NT systems.

Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.

Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing.

Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests and installation of software.

Investigates and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Performs preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems.

Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.

May interface with vendors for trouble calls.

Qualifications Education and Experience Required: Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.

May hold entry-level certification(s) in work field.

Typically 0-2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of relevant experience with 2 year post-high school degree.

DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II Security CE DoD Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for Singe Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) Requires at least 2-4 years of relevant IT experience Typical skills include: Shell scripting (e.g.

bash) and experience in other languages like Perl Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS Preferred Qualifications: Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS) Experience with IT ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy or ServiceNow ITIL v3 Foundation certified Experience working with virtual environments About Perspecta What matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
