What we need:

We�re currently seeking full-time experienced(18 Months+) Registered Nurses to join our team at Baylor Scott & WhiteMemorial Hospital in Temple, Texas; The #1 one city in the nation for Nursingopportunities and advancement!  Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital isa 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Centerbetween Dallas and Austin.

This37-bed telemetry monitored nursing unit provides the opportunity to work with awide variety of patients ranging in age from Adults to Geriatrics.  Theconditions that are within the scope of service for STC2 include but are notlimited to the following:

  • Patients requiring medication regimens
  • Patients with impaired respiratory status
  • Patients needing care for nutritional support
  • Chest Pain
  • CHF, COPD, PNA, DM, AMS
  • Patients with GI abnormalities
  • Patients requiring skin and wound care
  • Patients requiring cardiac monitoring due to chest pain or arrhythmias

STC2also provides care for Observation patients ranging in age from adult to geriatricwho meet criteria for an observation status. The goal for these patients is todiagnose, monitor and treat patients within 36 hours.  The conditions thatare within the scope of service for the Observation Service include but are notlimited to the following:

 

  • chest pain
  • CHF
  • syncope
  • dehydration
  • abdominal-gastrointestinal conditions

 

STC2 has a dedicated case manager who evaluates changes in patients� conditionsand treatments.  If the change indicates the patient meets inpatientcriteria, physician orders will be submitted to the Admission Center, and thepatient stay on the unit as an inpatient for the remainder of their care.

Requirements ofthe Ideal Candidate:

�        Graduateof RN School of Nursing

�        ADNrequired; BSN preferred

�        Mustbe licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examinersfor the State of Texas

�        Minimum18 Months of RN experience,  Acute Careor Hospital setting preferred

�        BasicLife Support (BLS) Required.

�        Functionscompetently and effectively under pressure and emergency situations
