Entrepreneurial Services Advisor – Aurora (Contract)

The Entrepreneurial Services Advisor is responsible for support in the Greater Aurora area. The Advisor will implement and deliver new programs focused on creating awareness regarding opportunities for small businesses. The Advisor position is a contract role for approximately six months and is required to be available for evening and weekend work.

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Program Innovations


  • Conduct outreach and maintain collaborative relationships with local institutions, relevant service providers, the local business community and other stakeholders
  • Manage participant recruitment and client outreach for program and events
  • Collaborate with the WBDC marketing team on content creation to enhance program branding, maximize awareness, industry partner participation and client attendance
  • Facilitate training and educational sessions in collaboration with other stakeholders
  • Maintain and analyze data on new program effectiveness based on post-program reporting and client survey results
  • Provide training and one-on-one business counseling, assessing individual needs and recommending a plan of action
  • Track client successes for story creation to showcase in WBDC newsletters and targeted publications
  • Prepare data and reports for deliverables as required
  • Other duties as indicated by the Managing Director, Program Innovations


  • Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred
  • 3-6 years of business experience
  • Analytical skills, financial and business acumen required
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred however, not required
  • Highly proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Passionate about women’s issues, and economic development

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Independent Contractor


SALARY RANGE: The position will be paid an hourly rate of $30-$45, based on experience.

The WBDC delivers programs and services throughout the greater Chicago area and certifies women owned businesses and offers procurement services in a nine state Midwest region.
