We currently have an opening for a Service Desk Technician II based in our Headquarters office in Harvey, IL.

Harvey is located approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago.

Reporting to the Manager, End User Computing in the Corporate Information Technology Department, the Service Desk Technician II has primary responsibility for providing live and remote technical support to end users and supporting and maintaining Atkore computer systems and equipment.

This role is responsible for the coordination and follow-up of customer problems and assists with system administration as needed.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Act as technical expert in assisting users in troubleshooting issues and resolving problems with computers, data and equipment Manage Departmental Projects from beginning to end Research and resolve complaints and problems in a timely manner Provide IT support to external users via phone and remote assistance tools Provide live (in-person) IT support to Internal Atkore users Assist visitors with obtaining Internet access at Atkore facilities Enter and update service desk tickets daily on behalf of users as necessary Resolve routine questions and problems on an everyday basis Serve as first point of contact for all Information Technology issues Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and AS400 Move and install computer equipment at local facilities Assist with the administration of computer systems as necessary Document Service desk related solutions into problem solving standard work documentation for other technicians Collaborate with System engineers to troubleshoot Atkore network/services Monitor the AS400 system and all jobs during work shift Configure, install and upgrade network connections, operating systems, software, and equipment Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment and makes repairs and corrections as required Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for all installed Atkore PC’s Assist systems programmers in isolating and resolving network problems.

Perform repetitive motions such as bending and twisting Stay current with newest technology to provide creative and efficient solutions Assist users with troubleshooting of Atkore cell phones Understanding of software distribution using SCCM Manage Inventory of all Atkore PC Inventory using Atkore’s cloud-based inventory tool and rotational schedule.

Manage the Deployment of Operating Systems using MDT or Autopilot.

Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Associates Degree required) 4-6 years of experience in a service desk role A Certification preferred Strong customer service skills and orientation Exceptional written and oral communication skills Exceptional interpersonal skills, with focus on rapport-building, listening, and the ability to ask technical questions to the end user.

Excellent technical computer troubleshooting skills Ability to provide hands-on support to users throughout the building (desks, offices, conference rooms) Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment Knowledge of basic computer hardware and peripherals Working technical knowledge of Windows 10 & Office 365 Knowledge of Citrix Go-to Assist.

Experience with PSTN Conference calling and equipment preferred.

Experience with IBM Power7/AS400, JDE Experience with SCCM (System Configuration Center) Experience with imaging using MDT and Autopilot Ability to provide off-hours support on a rotational schedule Work requires frequent sitting, keyboarding, bending, twisting, lifting, walking and carrying equipment.

Often requires crawling under desks and work stations and lifting computer equipment, frequently up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
