Sourcing Estimator – Construction Our client is seeking a Sourcing Estimator to join their team and work closely with both the Sourcing and Project Management teams to support and work with management, operations and estimating staff in the review of project plans, and specifications.

You should have extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs, and engineering principles.

You must also have estimating experience with commercial projects and the ability to produce hard dollar cost estimates for both asphalt and concrete construction projects.

As the Sourcing Estimator, you will also be responsible for initializing, onboarding, maintaining, and enhancing excellent relationships with the contractor base in order to support and grow the company’s network and delivery excellence capabilities.

Our client will rely on you to participate in continuous 360 feedback for advancing the selection and evaluation of the contractor network in order to continually improve upon network strengths and build out areas of opportunity.

This position calls for a passionate, collaborative professional with a positive strategic outlook, excellent communication, writing, editing and project management-type approach.

Our client will expect you to be proactive, solution oriented and be comfortable working in a deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities: Read and comprehend contract specifications and drawings, assess project risks.

Perform accurate detailed take off of quantities from drawings utilizing take off software.

Calculate labor, equipment and materials costs required for detailed cost estimate.

Create unit price cost estimates for client proposal requests (RFQ).

Communicate and solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors as required for bidding and prepare bid packages.

Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.

Write, edit, and format all RFQ/Proposal deliverables while maintaining on-time execution.

Provide pre-bid cost budgets.

Work with project management staff with both bid handoff and ongoing change order costing.

Qualifications: 4-year degree in Civil/ General Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 3 years estimating experience in commercial projects with specific emphasis in excavation, asphalt, and concrete paving.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Experience in e-procurement platforms, work order management software, estimating software or equivalent.

Highly organized and detail oriented.

Ability to work independently within established procedures, as well as in a team environment.

Flexibility to work in rapidly changing environment.

Ability to balance and flourish under multiple deadlines.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and ability to travel on short notice.

Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs.
